Halloween Makeup Look: Cruella De Vil

Cruella de Vil is an iconic villain, and this year I finally decided to recreate a glam version of her Halloween look. What I love about this makeup is that it’s dramatic yet achievable with products you likely already have. Let’s dive into how I created this green smokey eye, bold red lip, and Dalmatian spots, including all the makeup and brushes I used!

The Base

To start, I applied a foundation and tinted moisturizer mix for full coverage. This gave me a smooth, even complexion while still feeling lightweight. For bronzer, I used the Senegence Deep Tinted Moisturizer, applying it a little more heavily than usual to add depth and dimension. This combination provided the perfect base for the dramatic eye makeup and Dalmatian spots to come.

Brush used: Morphe M439 brush – Ideal for buffing and blending the foundation and bronzer evenly across the skin.

Eyes: Green Smokey Glam

For the eyes, I wanted a bold, Cruella-inspired green smokey eye. Here’s how I achieved it:

  1. Base Shade: I applied Candlelight ShadowSense all over my lid to create a smooth base for the eyeshadow.

  2. Transition Shade: I started with Moca Java ShadowSense as a transition shade in the crease to blend the darker colors more easily.

  3. Outer Corner: To deepen the look, I used Rustic Brown ShadowSense on the outer corner of my eyes. This step is important to give the smokey eye some depth.

  4. Main Color: I then applied a stunning Emerald Shimmer ShadowSense (try THIS if sold out) all over the lid with a flat, dense brush to pack on the pigment and keep it bold. I blended the edges for a smooth transition.

  5. Adding Glitter: I couldn’t resist adding some sparkle, so I layered a green and silver glitter (older shade) over the emerald shadow. For extra glam, I also used Urban Decay Moon Dust in the shade "Cosmic" for a white, shimmery effect.

Brushes used:

  • Flat dense brush: Perfect for packing on the green shimmer without losing intensity.

  • Domed blending brush: Used to blend out the darker colors for a soft, smoky effect.

Dalmatian Spots

What’s a Cruella look without Dalmatian spots? Instead of face paint, I used Senegence White Concealer for the spots, which is so much better for your skin. I applied the concealer using a small flat brush, creating random patches across my face. Once the white concealer dried, I outlined each spot with a black eyeliner pencil to give them more definition.

This step was surprisingly challenging—it’s harder than it looks to create abstract spots! But the result was worth it, adding a playful touch to the overall look.

Lips: Bold and Red

Cruella is known for her bold red lips, so I chose Senegence HydraMatte Lip Color in Red High Drama to get that classic, villainous vibe. The matte finish adds to the glam and stays put all night.

Final Touches: Lashes and Liner

For the final touches, I applied a black pencil liner on my waterline to intensify the eye look. I finished with Penelope lashes from Virago Babe, which added the perfect amount of drama to the look without being too heavy.

Brushes used:

  • Small angled brush: Great for applying and blending eyeliner and black shadow for extra smokiness.

Why Makeup Beats Face Paint

I always recommend using your everyday makeup for Halloween looks instead of face paint. Makeup is much better for your skin—it’s creamy, pigmented, and doesn’t clog pores like traditional face paint does. Plus, everything stays in place for hours, so you won’t have to worry about it slipping or smudging. You can also reuse these products in your daily routine!

Final Thoughts

This Cruella de Vil makeup look was so much fun to create, and I’m thrilled with how it turned out! The bold green smokey eye, red lips, and playful Dalmatian spots really capture Cruella’s iconic style.
