Halloween Makeup Look: The Living Dead
If you're like me, you want a Halloween look that's easy, affordable, and doesn’t require buying tons of accessories or special products. This year, I pulled together a simple, fun Halloween makeup look inspired by another artist's work and tweaked it to match my own style. The best part? I used products I already had on hand! You can easily recreate this look without a lot of effort or expense.
Foundation and Base
To start off, I used Senegence Foundation in the shade Dewy. Since it’s Halloween, I wanted full coverage, so I layered it up a bit. I applied the foundation with my Morphe M439 brush, which is great for buffing and blending foundation evenly across the face. I accidentally used too much at first, but the great thing about this foundation is that it's buildable, so I could work with it.
Before applying my foundation, I prepped my brows with a brow gel to keep them in place, and then I used Oat Milk ShadowSense under my eyes for color correcting. This ensures a smooth, even base for my concealer, which is key when you’re working with bold makeup looks.
Concealer and Contour
Next, I moved on to concealer. I mixed Light Medium and White Concealers to brighten the under-eye area and provide full coverage. I used the white concealer as a substitute for face paint—it's so much better for your skin! If you're doing any Halloween look, I highly recommend using this product instead of traditional face paint. It's non-comedogenic, lasts all night, and doesn't mess with your skin.
For bronzer, I used Senegence Deep Tinted Moisturizer on one side of my face to create dimension. I applied it more heavily than I would on a normal day to make the look more glam. Using the foundation brush, I cleaned up the edges to keep everything neat and sharp.
Eyeshadow and Liner
I wanted to do a bold, monochromatic pink look, so I started with Moca Java ShadowSense as a transition shade. I then went in with Peony Pink Hydramatte Lip Color—yes, a lip color!—to get that bright, bold pink on my eyes. I like using products in creative ways, and this cream lip color worked perfectly as eyeshadow.
To make the look pop even more, I layered Plasma Pink Shimmer ShadowSense for a fun, bold finish. For a softer cut crease effect, I pressed Pink Opal Shimmer ShadowSense onto the lids using a flat brush, blending everything for a smooth transition between the shades.
For liner, I went old-school with a felt tip liquid liner, creating bold, dramatic lines. I softened the look a bit by pressing Onyx ShadowSense over the liner to give it a more blended feel. This gives the eyes a sultry, smoky effect that ties in perfectly with the Halloween vibe.
Blush and Lips
Instead of using a separate blush, I took some of the leftover Peony Pink Hydramatte and Plasma Pink Shimmer from my eyes and applied it to my cheeks. This is a great way to reuse product and make sure everything matches.
For lips, I went with bold black lips using the same black eyeliner pencil that I used on my face. I also applied black eyeshadow on top to set the color, ensuring it wouldn’t move.
The Halloween Touch: Half and Half Look
For this look, I wanted to do something cool and different, so I went for a half-glam, half-monochrome split face. On one side, I kept the pink and glam look, while on the other side, I went for a more classic black-and-white Halloween vibe.
I mixed Onyx ShadowSense and White Concealer to create a gray base, then blended it across the side of my face using a domed brush. This gave me a smoky, monochromatic look. For extra drama, I pressed Onyx Glitter over the black for some sparkle. I then finished the look with silver eyeshadow on a flat brush for added dimension.
Lashes and Final Touches
Although I don’t usually wear strip lashes, I used the Virago Babe Lashes for extra drama. These lashes are super comfortable and gave the look that extra bit of glam. If you're looking for a full-on dramatic effect, these are perfect.
Lastly, I sketched a "drip" effect down the center of my face with black eyeliner, creating a cool, spooky detail to separate the two sides of the look. It’s a simple way to make a statement without too much effort!
Final Thoughts
This Halloween makeup look is simple, affordable, and uses products you likely already have. Whether you're going for glam or spooky vibes, you can adapt it to your style.
