My DIY Powder Bathroom Makeover

I can’t believe it’s done and I finally get to show you! This has been a labor of love and honestly, I feel like every room we finish, whether it be a bedroom or a powder room, is a monumental feat.

Decorating does not come naturally to me. It’s just not something I can visualize and see all the pieces in place without actually seeing it. Thankfully, my friend Savannah @SavannahKayDesigns came to my rescue and has been helping me put together our new home piece by piece. It’s also nice because I’m learning along the way, what I like, what I don’t like. And making decisions has become so much easier because I know my taste!

I’m so excited to show you what we’ve done and how it all came together. A powder room is a bit simpler to me because there aren’t too many pieces to pick out and put together. We decided to do something fun and go with a painted vanity that would act as a focal point for the room. The other thing we did was go with a large wall mural and it just might be my favorite thing in the finished space.

I reached out to Anewall and was so pleased with the process. I am not handy and hanging wallpaper seems like a complete nightmare. However, Anewall has tons of different options for putting up their designs from pre-pasted wallpaper to peel-and-stick vinyl and more. It really allows the end-user to pick something that fits their abilities and comfort level. They also walked me through measuring my space and making sure I was set with the right size mural that would fit my walls perfectly!

  1. VANITY LIGHT: I love this light and the gold accents that match the other hardware we decided upon. This could easily be clear glass or colored to match your space.

  2. BEVELED MIRROR: I really like the unique shape of this mirror! I think it’s a great way to make the space interesting and I think it elevates the look of the whole room!

  3. GOLD HARDWARE: I purchased all three of these off of Amazon. It was a great way to save money on the pieces I wanted and I had way more options that matched than I did going to a traditional store. And these are pieces that can easily be switched out should my style ever change! The color I went with is Champagne Bronze and I chose this instead of yellow gold because it tied in the mirror better. There are also additional accessories (towel rack, etc) that come in this finish.

  4. WALL MURAL: This is a wall mural from ANEWALL. They have so many beautiful options and different adhesion methods.

  5. TILE: This simple cross-hatch tile pattern brought in some of the grey tones in the mural and just tied the whole room together without overwhelming or taking over.

  6. VANITY: I got this piece originally from Floor & Decor but it completely sold out! I pulled these similar styles and think it’s a great way to have a pop of color and statement piece, I feel it really anchors the room.

I hope you love this space as much as I do. It really came together so well and I’m excited to share more of our new home with you as it comes together!
